Saving for the future and for things that you need and want is very important.  Day Air Credit Union offers a "Saving Money Is Fun" (SMIF) Kids Savings Account for kids 11 and younger.  Starting a savings account is a responsible way to learn how to save money for the things you want in life.

The Money Mammals are only the first step in beginning a lifelong dialogue between parent and child about the value of money.

Who are the Money Mammals?
The Money Mammals are the mascots of the "Saving Money is Fun" Kids Club.  It is a program that focuses on the relevant financial literacy issues of today and the future.  Not only does this club engage kids with video, print, and online media, Day Air also has a "Saving Money is Fun" Kids Club Account where kids can make deposits and earn rewards!

Why an account for kids?
This account encourages kids to start saving money at an early age! According to Parents Magazine, "Children ages 4 to 12 shell out an estimated $35.6 billion of their own cash annually, more than four times what they did a decade ago."

So kids today are receiving a lot of money, and instead of saving it, they are spending it right away.  If kids learn the value of saving money when they are young, the hope is that they continue to save their entire life.  Day Air wants to help your kids learn these valuable lessons, and have fun doing it!  So enter the Money Mammals!
